TryHackMe’s ‘Content Studio’ Has Arrived!

Introducing Content Studio - a new area for Team Managers to search, build and assign content on TryHackMe!

What is Content Studio?

Content Studio replaces the Learning Paths page and can be used to search, build, and assign any content on TryHackMe. With this release, team managers will be able to browse through and assign both their own custom content alongside TryHackMe’s catalogue of Learning Paths, Modules and Rooms, all from inside the Management Dashboard.

Until now, assignments could only be created for individual rooms. Creating an assignment also cloned the room every time, meaning that users completing the assignment could not accrue public points.

With the launch of Content Studio, admins now have access to a sophisticated panel within the Management Dashboard to display both their own custom content alongside native content published by TryHackMe.

Displayed as helpful cards, showing the content title, difficulty tag and short description, it’s now easy for admins to search and discover what content their team should be completing to achieve their training goals. Building custom learning paths and modules is now much easier too, with useful drag-and-drop cards and the ability to find and build content to include on the fly, so your workflow doesn’t get disrupted.

Most importantly, as an admin, you can now assign any type of content (Learning Paths, Modules or Rooms) for your team to complete. Even better, assigning content will no longer clone it, meaning your team will also accrue public points for the TryHackMe content you assign them.

The Content Studio will undoubtedly become one of the most valuable tools for team admins on our Business plan going forward,” says Danielle Martin, Head of Customer Success at TryHackMe. “This new area addresses so much of the feedback we’ve had from our valued clients and will drastically enhance the opportunities for managers to engage their teams on the platform.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

Q: Where can I find my custom content?

A: To view your custom content within Content Studio, simply select ‘Company Content’ from the dropdown menu at the top of each page. You can easily toggle between your own content and TryHackMe content, and sort by creation date and title.

Q: Can I still clone existing Paths?

A: Yes! This update does not remove any functionality. You can still clone existing paths or create your own from scratch using the ‘Create Learning Path’ button at the top of the page.

Q: Will assigning a path, module, or room clone it?

A: No, we have deprecated this requirement moving forward, which means your team will accrue any points associated with the assigned content.

Q: What happens after the deadline date has passed on an assignment?

A: Assignments are no longer locked after the deadline date. Users will still be able to complete the assignment, but any progress after the deadline date will not count towards the assignment’s completion. This will allow users to come back to past assignments to refresh their memory or continue to complete an assignment for their own personal learning even if the deadline has passed.

Q: If I update the deadline date to a new date in the future, will any progress from users (before I updated the date) get recorded?

A: Yes, the assignment progress is based on question completion up until the deadline date. If you update the deadline date, any progress made up to the new deadline date will be included.

Q: When I view My Rooms on the Rooms page, I cannot see any of the Rooms created by other admins. Is this correct?

A: Yes, viewing My Rooms within the Rooms page shows only the rooms associated with your account. If you would like to assign a room built by one of your colleagues, ask them to share the access link to the room, which can be found in the ‘Manage Room’ page under the ‘Access’ menu. Once you have management access to the room, it will appear under the list of your rooms for you to assign to your team.

Q: What happens to historic/old assignments, will they still be locked?

A: Yes, historic assignments which have already been locked will remain in a locked state.
