This month, the TryHackMe team headed to Vegas in sight of two of the biggest events in the industry: Black Hat and DEF CON!
Every year, these two conferences draw thousands of security professionals, hackers, researchers, and enthusiasts to Las Vegas for a week of cutting-edge talks, hands-on workshops, and a deep dive into the latest in information security. This year, we had the privilege of attending both and meeting hundreds of dedicated TryHackMe users!
Here’s a recap of our time in Vegas…
Black Hat USA
We started our trip in Vegas with the Black Hat USA conference, which attracts a diverse crowd, from seasoned professionals to eager learners!
During Black Hat, we demoed our business plan, upcoming Azure path, and gave a very exciting preview of TryHackMe’s SOC Simulator, allowing attendees to experience the tool first-hand before it releases at the end of 2024! 😉 More info will be revealed in a couple of months, but for now, check out the video below for a (top secret) sneak preview!
Hundreds of people stopped by to say hello, grab a free t-shirt and stickers, be interviewed, and learn more about our business plan offering!
DEF CON 32
Next up - DEF CON! The crowd at DEF CON ranged from seasoned hackers to curious newcomers, all eager to dive into the world of cyber security. TryHackMe even sponsored three villages (Red Team Village, Blue Team Village, and Cloud Village) and contributed two ‘insane’ challenges to the Cloud Village CTF!
At our booth, we welcomed a constant stream of eager visitors to meet us, ask questions, be interviewed, and pick up some free swag! We were giving away TryHackMe t-shirts, free MOLLE pouches with custom TryHackMe patches, and our NEW and exclusive ‘Hacktivities’ card packs! 🔥
We were fortunate to meet Tyler Ramsbey, InfoSec Pat, and Gerald Auger (to name just a few!), along with TryHackMe’s wonderful power users from our community of over three million!
We’re already looking forward to next year, eager to return to Vegas with even more to offer. Until then, thank you to everyone who visited our booths, shared your stories, and made this trip one for the books!
