TryHackMe is launching the third Advent of Cyber event this December, a free cyber security training event with gamified, interactive learning.

30,000 users across the globe participated in the last event, and this year is set to be even bigger with content, prizes, and collaborations with key influencers in the space.

What is Advent of Cyber?

The Advent of Cyber (AoC) event aims to get people started in cyber security. It is entirely free and can be accessed from anywhere in the world through internet browsers. Cyber security is notoriously difficult to break into, and this event aims to break these barriers, allowing everyone the opportunity to kickstart their cyber journey.

Every day from December the 1st to December the 25th, TryHackMe will release brand new, beginner-friendly tasks that follow an interactive Christmas story. Each task has written and video content, and covers topics such as web exploitation, network exploitation, OSINT (open-source intelligence,) cloud hacking, and defensive training.

Advent of Cyber is a free opportunity for everyone. No matter the skill level, age, or occupation, this event helps kick-start cyber security learning journeys - and for some, career changes with topics applicable to security roles in the industry. It is a great way to understand how security attacks occur and launch into cyber in a fun, secure way! - Ben Spring, TryHackMe Co-founder

Who signs up for the Advent of Cyber?

TryHackMe was created to break down these barriers and enable everyone (whatever their background,) the chance to break into the space with a low price point and engaging gamified training.

Advent of Cyber is an extension of these foundations. Being completely free and accessible from any computer, individuals looking to learn something new or simply up their cyber awareness sign up across countries. With the lucrative career opportunities in cyber security, students and professionals looking for career changes are another key market - training with AoC as a platform to build from.

Individuals with security adjacent careers benefit from signing up for the event. People in job roles such as system administrators, IT, and software developers can leverage the free training to learn more about cyber security to transition to their job scope.

Advent of Cyber is also a training tool for businesses. Companies can utilise management dashboards and share daily challenges across their teams - monitoring progress and giving the workforce a premium learning experience.
